Celebrating 100 Years of Rotary – May 20, 2010
Rotarians from Missouri and Kansas were invited to a grand Celebration of 100 Years of Rotary Service in greater Kansas City. The Centennial Celebration was a luncheon on Thursday, May 20, 2010, in the historic Union Station in Kansas City, MO. Click HERE for more information about Union Station.
Rotary International President John Kenny was the keynote speaker. Immediately following the luncheon program, all Rotarians and their guests congregate in the lobby of Union Station for a commemorative photograph.
To commemorate 100 Years of Rotary Service, all attendees were asked to participate in a service project for the Rotary Youth Camp Each person was asked to bring an item from the following list to donate to the Rotary Youth Camp:
- Del Monte Green Beans or Whole Kernel Corn 101 oz
- Doritos Nacho Cheesier or Lays Classic Potato Chips Box of 50/1 oz
- Kellogg’s Assorted Cereal Fun Pack
- Bottled Water
- Liquid Dial Gold Antimicrobial Soap 1 Gallon.
Cash donations are also welcome. Donations were collected at the entrance to the luncheon and delivered to the Rotary Youth Camp. If a Rotary Club would like to contribute $250 or more towards items to purchase, please contact the Kansas City Rotary Office for suggested items.
